Puppy Socialization

Lakeville Family Pet Clinic is now offering puppy socialization classes for puppies as young as 8-weeks and up to 6-months of age.

This is a fantastic opportunity to introduce your puppy to new experiences in a positive, safe and controlled environment. It is important to understand that these socialization classes do not focus on obedience training, but will lightly touch on some basic techniques. Classes are held on Thursday and Tuesday evenings from 6:00-6:45pm.

Please note: Puppies that are not current patients with us are welcome to sign up for classes, but proof of vaccinations are necessary (Distemper, Bordetella, and Rabies (for puppies 16 weeks or older)).

Spots are limited so be sure to register today! If you have any additional questions, please call the clinic (952) 595-6500.

Class Policies and Liability

Enrollment
Puppy socialization classes will be 45 minutes long and occur weekly. It is strongly encouraged to attend weekly for 4-6 weeks, as each class will build on the one previous, however, it is not required.

Vaccinations
Puppies must have received at least one round of DHPP vaccination at least seven days prior to participation in puppy class. Puppies must be on a regular vaccination schedule to be allowed to continue in the puppy socialization program. Proof of vaccination must be provided at time of registration and provided again with subsequent boosters.

Wellness
Do not attend puppy class if your pet is not well. Diarrhea, vomiting, coughing, sneezing or other changes in health or behavior should be addressed by a veterinarian before attending class. If you are unsure about your dog’s health, please do not hesitate to contact us. Dogs in heat are not allowed to attend class.

Cancellations
Payment for each class is due a minimum of one week in advance of your scheduled class. If you need to cancel or reschedule, you must do so 48 hours in advance or your fee is forfeited. If the minimum enrollment for a class is not met, the class will be canceled or rescheduled. You may enroll in the rescheduled class, receive credit toward a future class or receive a full refund.

Behavior
Lakeville Family Pet Clinic and their trainer reserve the right to decline entry to any dog who presents behavioral issues that may be dangerous or disruptive to the rest of the class. If any pet is denied for this reason, you will be referred to a private consultation with the trainer and given a full refund. If there are any known behavioral issues, please disclose this to the trainer upon registration.
